A hand-drawn illustrated map celebrating one of Berwick-upon-Tweed's most beloved traditions — the Riding of the Bounds.

Every May, horses and riders follow an ancient route around the boundaries of Berwick, continuing a tradition that stretches back more than four hundred years. Inspiration and Techniques

Many people's first introduction to Berwick-upon-Tweed is passing over the Royal Border Bridge when taking the train from London to Edinburgh. The Royal Border Bridge itself gives you an excellent view of Berwick's other two bridges - the 'Old' bridge - built at the behest of James I - and the 'New' Bridge - built almost 300 years later. All three bridges are architecturally distinct and represented the peak of engineering and technology at the times they were built.

This print features detailed pen and ink illustrations of elements of the three bridges, along with a hand-written name label and the date that the bridges were opened to the public.
