I’m Ali Edwards, an illustrator and designer based in Northumberland, just south of the Scottish border. I create hand-drawn maps and illustrationsinspired by place, nature and heritage.
My work is inspired by the landscapes and history of the North East and beyond, and is available to license, commission, or purchase as finished artwork and as a range of eco-friendly art prints and gifts. I also teach a range of workshops to help inspire others to explore nature and heritage through their creativity.
With a background in the not-for-profit sector, I specialise in commissioned illustration for charities, trusts and values-led organisations who need to communicate clearly and connect people emotionally with their work.
If you’re interested in working together, I’d love you to see how commissions work.

“Being given the confidence to experiment was such a bonus. And it was fun! The workshop made me feel relaxed, curious and I found myself smiling whilst I drew. It was good to have the time to talk amongst the group - it made the time out so special'“

"We commissioned the wonderful Ali from Coostie Illustration & Design last year to create a concept which I had for an information board/farm map for part of the farm and boy did she understand the assignment!! It's been a pleasure from the off to work with her! She completely "got" my idea and created something far better than I could have ever imagined."

“Working with Ali for our logo project has been an absolute pleasure. Throughout the process she has been incredibly thorough in her work, honest with feedback and comments, and amazingly responsive with changes and new iterations. I felt bad coming back to her countless times with tiny tweaks and requests for new fonts but she handled it all very well and we are very happy with the final outcome.”
