Illustration Licensing

If you've spotted one of my illustrations and thought that would work beautifully on our product — you're probably right, and I'd love to hear from you! Licensing allows businesses, publishers and makers to use my existing artwork commercially, without commissioning something new from scratch. It's a good fit when the illustration already exists and suits your needs — and it can be a much faster, more affordable route to distinctive, original artwork than a full commission.

What I license

My nature and wildlife illustrations are the most popular choice for licensing — particularly the British Songbirds collection, which has already appeared on product packaging and gift inserts for a small UK business. But I'm open to enquiries about any of my existing work, including my botanical illustrations, coastal and landscape pieces, and Northumberland-themed artwork.

If you're not sure whether something is available, just ask.

Why licensing?

When you license an illustration from me, you're purchasing the right to use it in a specific way — on a product, in a publication, on packaging, or elsewhere — for an agreed period and territory. The original artwork and copyright remain mine.

Typical uses include:

  • Greetings cards and stationery

  • Product packaging and labels

  • Homeware and gift products

  • Editorial and publishing

  • Digital and print marketing materials

Pricing is based on how the image will be used, where, and for how long. I'll always give you a clear, straightforward quote once I understand what you need — no jargon, no hidden extras.

How to get in touch:

If you'd like to license one of my illustrations, or you're not sure yet and just want to explore the idea, I'm happy to have a no-pressure conversation.

Drop me a message with a brief description of what you have in mind — the illustration you're interested in, what you'd like to use it for, and roughly where and when — and I'll come back to you.

If you’re looking to commission something brand new, or bespoke to you, please take a look at my Commissions page.
