This eye-catching, modern art print is part of a collection that features prominent landmarks and places of interest in Berwick-upon-Tweed. The landmarks were all chosen as being representative of the spirit, history or geography of the town.
This print features a range of twelve of Berwick’s most iconic buildings and landmarks, including:
its Victorian lighthouse;
the pantiled rooves of buildings within the town’s Elizabethan walls;
a re-purposed Grade II-listed public toilet;
parts of the town’s Elizabethan fortifications, including the Bell Tower, and the earthen ramparts, as well as a Russian cannon, trophy of the Crimean War;
a sculpture of the town’s mascot (the bear);
the Guildhall, built by the town’s Freemen and still dominating the main high street;
the Royal Border Bridge carrying the East Coast mainline on towards Scotland;
the North Sea within the old fishing harbour of Greenses Haven;
the mighty River Tweed, famous for its salmon and colony of swans
A potted description of each of the images and their associated colour is included with the print as an added extra.
Inspiration and Values
Each illustration is primarily monochrome, hand-drawn in black ink. I then added the corresponding colour to the relevant area of each drawing, creating a unique Berwick-upon-Tweed colour palette – ideal as a gift or souvenir. I sign all of my prints and am happy to add any inscription you would like - simply add this to the notes field at check out.
Sustainability is important to me and I source all of my art prints from an ethical and environmentally-responsible, UK-based company. This one has been printed on to a premium, heavy-weight paper made from sustainably-sourced eucalyptus pulp, using environmentally-friendly ink. I don’t use any plastic in my packaging and there’s always a little extra something in your order as a thank you for supporting my small business.
A percentage of my profits goes to support a number of local charities that look after our built and natural environment here in North Northumberland.
