Art in the Park 2026

Join me in Coronation Park for this free event for all ages hosted by the Friends of Castle Parks.

  • Date: Sunday 23rd August

  • Time: 2-4pm

  • Location: Coronation Park, Berwick-upon-Tweed

This year's Art in the Park is all about the birds you can see in and around Coronation Park — from the river below to the trees overhead.

We'll be focusing on six birds with a real connection to this spot: robin and barn owl (look out for their wooden sculptures in the park!), blue tit and goldfinch, and eider duck and swan, both of which you can spot on the Tweed.

I'll have step-by-step guides for each bird, so you can choose your own level — simple colouring sheets with fun facts for younger artists or anyone who fancies a relaxed start, and more advanced technique sheets for those who want to try something new: watercolour and coloured pencil, ink and wash, or charcoal. Take your art home with you afterwards!

Fun for all ages and abilities — no art experience necessary. I'll be on hand throughout to help, demonstrate, and answer questions.

All materials will be provided — just bring a drink, a snack, and maybe something to sit on. Don't forget a sunhat/sun cream or a layer or two, depending on the weather!
